About food deserts in houston
All throughout Houston, food deserts are a rising issue. Food deserts are areas vapid of fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthful whole foods, usually found in impoverished areas. This is largely due to a lack of grocery stores, farmers' markets, and healthy food providers. Many people don't have the right transportation to get to a fresh grocery store, and resort to fast food. Eating fast food can lead to obesity, which can cause serious health issues. Food deserts are a serious national problem and we need to help take a stand.
